2013 favourites

I've been avoiding to finish this post, because I knew it will take me quite some time to write, but it's January is flying by so quickly and it's about time I publish it ... let's start :)

Cosmetics:

I am not oily, but sometimes if I wear makeup all day, I get little bit shiny and it's nice to have a primer underneath to prevent that. MUA Matte perfect primer does its job and I really loke it. I'm a huge fan of Bourjois Healthy Mix collection and last year I started using Bourjois Healthy mix serum. It's light, gives me dewy finish and it stays on me quite long. I usually don't powder my whole face, but I set my foundation around the eyes, around my lips and I even use powder as natural eyeshadow to set eyeshadow primer. Catrice All matt plus Shine control powder does a great job with all that.

Skin care discovery for my face has to be Alverde Clear Waschcreme. It removed my makeup and cleans my face perfectly and it's super gentle. Another skin care product I loved in 2013 is Balea Aqua serum, I just ran out of it, that's why it's not in the picture :). For my hair I've been loving Balea Oil repair spulung (conditioner). Makes my hair super soft and shiny. Deodorant I really liked was Felce Azzura Deo spray. It's in spray form, it's great to refresh during the day and this green scent is the only one I like from their line.

I cannot live without eyeliner and mascara, in 2013 I really liked Essence Liquid ink liquid eyeliner in waterproof form. Just be careful not to apply too much otherwise it will start to peel off. Another liner I liked was Catrice Gel eyeliner Black Jack with Jack Black, even though it's not the blackest liner out there. Stays on its place whole day, it even lasted me pretty decent amount of time. Gel liner tent to dry pretty fast. Mascara of the year has to be Isa Dora Big Bold Super volumizing mascara, which I won in IsaDora giveaway on Twitter. The wand is big and can be messy on lower lashes, but if applied carefully it did its job. Nice volume, length and intensity. Last couple of month I've been using only Catrice eye brow pencil for my lashes. As you can see on the picture, I need a new one ;) I don't have a full name or name of the shade, but I think it's the darkest one. I can't apply eyeshadow if I haven't applied primer first and I really liked Avon eye primer. It's beyond amazing.

Most used lipsticks have to be Ingrid 242, MUA lipstick Shade 11 and Revlon Just Bitten Kissable balm stain Smitten.

Nails:

Best base coat is OPI Natural Nail Base coat. This is the best base coat I tried and I think it even dries my colour polish faster. Other favourite polishes have to be: Essie Aruba blue, Essie Sole Mate and Barry M Racing Green.

Books:
I read quite some amazing books in 2013,  But first book that comes to my mind is from Cristy Žmahar called Nebesa odgovarjajo (Heaven response; only available in Slovenian atm). Here's a little description: click.

Music:
I'll have to go with whole newest album from Panic! at the Disco - Too weird to live To rare to die. You're probably sick and tired of me mentioning them, but I really do love them and still haven't gone sick and tired of their songs ;). You can listen to whole album on YouTube here.
Second album I really dig has to be from Fall Out Boy - Save Rock and Roll. Listen to whole album here.

Source: screenshot from their videos.

YouTube:
I discovered so many amazing YouTubers last year and I already shared that in my Favourite Youtubers post in December (here). My all time favourites have to be Claire Marshall (queen of editing and I probably re watched all her videos quite some times :D) and MadeYewLook (young talented positive girl, she also has her own brush set line).

Source: Pinterest.
Movies:
For movies I'll have to go with the two I saw in November/December, because those are the only ones I remember :D The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, of course. Jennifer Lawrence brought Katniss on a whole another level, fell in love with her even more and movie is much more understandable and it sticks to a book. And I watched it twice. In the cinema, yes. :)
Second one I really like was The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, because I love hobbits, elves, dragons and fantasy movies. :) And now I just remembered I got inspired to do one more makeup for The Hobbit makeup series ;)

Are my favourites your favourites too? :) Tell me what was your favourite product, music, series, book ... in 2013.

Favourite products of June

I don't have a lot of products to show you in today's post, but I decided to write this post anyways, maybe someone will find some new products to use and will love them, too ;).

Let's start with polishes. I recently bought just 2 polishes, I have around 80 polishes and I see no point in buying new ones before I don't use up some of what I already have. Anyways, these 2 polishes are from Bourjois 1 seconde silicon gel texture. I like the wide brush, application is easy, unmessy and quick. They dry pretty quickly once applied, but I'm not sure about the gel texture. They look quite like any other polish to me and I don't apply top coat. I got them in shades 22 Turqiouse block and 23 In the Navy (notd post here). My 2 fave colours ;).

I've been using Elf Makeup mist setting spray for quite awhile and it comes really handy now that it's finally summer and it's even hot some days (weather is funny this year, let me tell you. I am not complaining though). It sets my makeup in place and it usually lasts all day. It probably wouldn't survive a rainy day without umbrella, will try it out next time ;).

I finally found (or should I say re-discovered, because I used it before) a mascara that works well for me. Max Factor Masterpiece HD mascara gives me length, is really rich black and it doesn't make my lashes clumpy. And I thought that there was no hope for my almost non-existent lashes. Thank you HD mascara.

Another product I've been using for probably a year or so now and I still love it, especially now in summer time, because it doesn't smudge (even though it's not waterproof) is Catrice Gel eyeliner. I use it on almost daily basis and I can't really live without it anymore.

Last but not least in beauty category is GreenPeople Self tan lotion. I am not a fan of fake tan at all, but my legs are like paper white, I can blend in with a white wall and people won't see me ^^ ...  But this fake then gives me slight natural colour, not orange, it's not streaky, I haven't stained any of my clothes or furniture, it's vegan, organic and not tasted on animals. Yay :)

I actually don't have any other categories to cover this time. I just started watching new season of True blood. Anyone else watching? :)

Tell me about your favourites or send me a link to your favourites post, would love to know ;)

Thank you for reading and commenting <3

September favourites

It's this time of the month again. Time to tell you all about my favourites! So, let's start, I have a lot of stuff to show you!

I fell in love with Sleek Au naturel palette. I've been using it almost every day since I bought it and you probably seen that in my makeup blog posts. It's mentioned almost in every one. It has such beautiful range of natural colours! Who need Naked palette anyways? :)

I always wanted to buy more pigments, but they can be really expensive. So, thank you Essence for releasing Essence pigments. There is nothing not to love about them. Super pigmented, cheap, easy to use. Brilliant.

Another Essence product has to be their Colour & go nail polish in 129 the boy next door. I love blue varnishes, clothes, shoes, blue everything. Such a lovely colour!

And another Essence product (this is the last one, I promise) is Liquid eyeliner waterproof. I was searching for a good liquid eyeliner for the longest time, bought this "by accident" and I can't really complain about it, especially because my eyes can get pretty watery sometimes and smudge my makeup (and it looks like I don't know how to apply makeup).

Hello, I'm Deja and I am lipstick addict. I ordered 3 lippies from MUA (swatched here: click) and I've been using Nectar one a lot lately. It's just such a beautiful shade and I really like texture of their lipsticks.

My ophthalmologists recommended I stop wearing contact lenses for a month and use Refresh eye drops at least 8 times a day. I've been using them before, but now I realized how refreshing they really are for my eyes. Haven't stopped wearing lenses, I just wear them less. Bad patient :)

I finally emptied my UDPP (had it for more than a year) and decided to try Too faced Shadow insurance. Been doing a great job for me. Ordered on eBay.

Two brushes I've been loving are pointed brush for eyeliner with no name and fluffy blending brush from BHcosmetics.

And my favourite song this month has to be Gangnam Style. No more word needed (thank you, Petite Sal, who tweeted this song, it has been on repeat ever since :P). K-pop ftw.

I think that's finally it! What are your favourites for this month? Have you tried any of these products?

Have a lovely day,

Monthly faves: JULY!

End of the month can mean only one: it's time for monthly favourites! I usually always get a positive feedback on those short "reviews" of my favourite things, that's why I decided to start writing separate review posts, because some products are my all time favourites and will never make it into my monthly faves, because I use them all the time. Tell me your thoughts on that. :)

First product, I've been using a lot is Essence Marble mania blush in 01 swirlpool. It's a nice rosy shimmery blush, which gives my cheeks really pretty glow and I don't even have to use a highlighter with it, because it's already shimmery. :)

My favourite of the favourites has to be Seche Vite Dry fast top coat. It dries your polish in a minute, after ten minutes I can make myself a lunch :D. It makes my nail colouring so much easier, because I always manage to ruin my manicure somehow. I bought this magic bottle on E-bay, I think it was around 7 €.

Second nail polish I've been loving this month (I actually had it for a year now, but used it only once, because it dries so slowly, but thank you Dry fast top coat, you make my life so much easier :D) is Essence multi dimension XXXL shine in 68 Perfectly true. It's white with no glitter, shimmer, just plain white varnish :).

Another polish I've been loving lately is Essence colour & go in 38 Choose me! Year ago I wasn't really into shimmery polishes, but now I just love them. This one looks so cute on my toe nails!

I've been listening a lot of non-mainstream and non-commercial music, because working in a shop with clothes you hear that sh*t every day and some songs just make you nervous an you start hating them! :) On repeat this month: The Cunninglynguists - Darkness.

I am doing much more yoga and I started liking it. I still like my HIIT workouts though, but some days I feel like doing something much less impulsive or I combine both - high intensity interval training and yoga. I'm still a beginner at it :).

My favourite food of the month has to be salad. It's been so hot through all month that I'm not really in the mood to cook anything. I mix all kind of veggies, sometimes even fruit, mozzarella cheese, tuna, beans and other yummy healthy stuff :).

I know I'm kinda late, but finally I found time to watch all new episodes of True Blood season 5. Super excited for a new episode :). Do you watch True Blood? Which TV series do you like most?

That all for today's post. What are your faves of the month?

xoxo Deja

June favourites!

Sorry I've been MIA lately. I've been really busy busy and it's so freakin' hot, I don't even feel like blogging, although you don't really have to move much while blogging :D ...
It July already, I can't believe it! It's time for the monthly favourites:

My favourite fragnance of the month is Essence Like a trip to NY. I found it randomly in Muller and all their fragnances smell so spring/summer-y and so lovely! I wanted to buy all of them (haha. They are not that expensive though). Have you tried them? Which one is your favourite?

Best pimple killer is Purifiying oil Pure nature Organic tea tree and rosemary from Oriflame. I use it before going to bed.

I started using new night cream. I bought it on BB natura and it's from Derma E Ester C Creme with E. My skin in the morning is so soft and hydrated. My previous cream was also Derma E. Derma E never disappoints me :)

I love E.l.f. and of course I had to order some new goodies from their site. E.l.f. lipsticks are really creamy and pigmented. I bought two of them and the only thing I don't like is that they don't have a name on them. That's why I can't tell you the names. Both of them are in the pink family :)

Currently my best nail polish remover is Aveo mandel mit Aceton. It removes glitter like a boss! :)) Bought  it at Muller.

The best movie I saw in June was definitelly 21 jump street. This was the most hilarious comedy I have seen in a really long time. I was  laughing even the next day after seeing a movie. Highly recommend it! :)

I wasn't really reading any book this month, because I had to study for my exams (never ending story). And no particular song was on repeat this month ... (although I still like Payphone :))).

What are yours monthly favourites?

Have a lovely Monday!!

April favourites!!

It's kinda normal to do monthly favourites at the beginning of the month, right? :) I was really thinking what products I used most this month and loved them. I put together some things, which aren't all beauty related, because my blog is not just about cosmetics ... So, I hope you like it <3

1. You always have to set you liquid foundation with a loose or pressed powder, because the last thing you have to worry about is that your foundation doesn't stay put during the day. I really like E.l.f. Studio High Definition Powder at the moment and it's really cheap, too. So it's a must have product.

2. I have very thick and long eyebrows and like them groomed and filled in. In last monthly favourites I mentioned Catrice shadow, in April I've been using a lot of Catrice Eye brow stylist 030 Brow-n-eyed Peas. It much faster, because with shadow you need a brush, this pencil has even a spoolie brush on the other side. How cool is that? :) (Tuš drogerija)

3. Orange lipsticks are so underrated, I think. I'm gonna rock this summer with corals and oranges. My fave at the moment is Catrice Ultimate Colour 050 Princess Peach. (Tuš drogerija)

4. Oriflame Love potion is my favourite fragrance at the moment. It's little bit sweeter than other fragrances I use, bit it still works for me. It's a yummy scent :)

5. I'm a big green tea lover. But the other day I randomly bought Teekanne Garden Selection tea and I've been drinking it almost every single day and it's not even a green tea. :) (DM)

6. My favourite books this month have been all three from The Hunger Games. You may know I'm a fan, since I've done two makeup looks inspired by the movie and books (look #1, look #2). The movie is OK, but books are so much more real (I don't even know if this is a right word :P), the description of an author really pictures the place, characters ... Couldn't recommend them more. I read them in English, and the second one (Catching fire) is the best! :)

What are yours monthly favourites?

Favourite nail polishes

I had in mind a "spring nail polishes" blog post but after collecting "spring" colours, which I don't really wear very often, I decided to do my ultimate favourite nail polishes. I don't colour my nails according to season, I wear whatever I feel like wearing :). So, here it is ...

From left to right:
Orly Rock-on red. It's my one and only Orly nail polish, but I would like to have more of them, because this one dries so fast on nails, which is a really important to me. I get impatient easily if a nail polish dries too slow :)  (Tuš Drogerija).
Avon nailwear pro Coral Beat. I mentioned this colour in one of my previous monthly favourites posts and it's one of my favourites of all times, I won't lie :) (Avon catalogue)
Revlon Blackest Black. Black nails always look so good. With anything, with everything. :) (Mueller)
NYX Girls Bermuda Tirangle. The prettiest blue-ish color ever. Looks so good on toe nails, especially in summer time :) (e-Bay)
China Glaze Peachy keen. It was love at first sight with this one. Light orange-y colour and it looks good in every season. (e-Bay)
Avon nailwear pro Real red. I think every girl should have a classic red in her nail polish collection and this one from Avon is just in right shade. Not too bright, not too dark, somewhere in the middle :) (Avon catalogue)
E.l.f. nail polish Teal blue. I really don't know what has this green to do with blue, but this is the name on the bottom, I think they messed up the stickers. :) However, I think this is the prettiest green and it just calls: "spring has sprung!" :) (E.l.f. website; I think it's called "Teal" on the site)
Barry M Mint green. It's a very light pastel green colour, which I like a lot! (licila.si)

I was playing with my camera :)

Would you be interested in doing my nail polish collection blog post?

On repeat today:

Have a lovely Monday,

xoxo Deja

March '12 favourites!

In March I wasn't really trying any new products, but I fell in love with my older ones, which I had forgotten about and started using again ... I also mentioned my latest favourite book and song. Let's start! :)

1. Makeup Factory Mat Eye Shadow in a nude-ish colour has been in my makeup collection for about two years. I neglected it for some time, but when I started using it again I remembered why I had loved it so much before. It's so soft and easy to apply, it's so perfect for blending or for all over colour (I usually use it with my winged liner look) or even for setting my under eye concealer - works great as a powder, too :D. What a must-have product!

2. Second eyeshadow is from Catrice Absolute Eye Colour in 350 Starlight Expresso. This colour is so perfect for my eyebrows (it's kinda grey-ish brown), because with other brown-ish shadows eyebrows can look too red and it's just ... awkward. I apply it with my IsaDora angled brush and my eyebrows look even more awesome as they are :).

3. Best highlighter at the moment is an eyeshadow from Alverde in 09 Nude Rose. It's meant to be an eye colour, but it looks so great on cheeks, nose and cupid bows! I stopped using it because it fell on the floor and crushed into little pieces and was to lazy to fix it. I managed to fix it like MacGyver though :)). Will write a blog about fixing eye shadows!

4. I have never really been a book lover. But in March I read quite some books and one of them was from Jillian Michaels Unilimited (yes, she is a fitness guru, but also an amazing life coach). Been fan of hers for quite some time, but afterwards reading the book I feel in love with her even more. Do you wanna change your life? Then read it! :) I bought mine on bestseller.si.

5. Nah, I don't really like Justin Bieber, but this cover of his new song "Boyfriend" from Chester See and Andy Lange is currently my favourite! I haven't even heard whole song from JB, because the cover is so good and I believe the original would sound rubbish :D

Tell me about yours currently favourite products, books, movies, songs ... Would love to hear or read!
Hope you had a lovely weekend,

xoxo Deja
