FOTD: Shopping the stash & short reviews

It's so easy to get caught in a makeup rut and forget about certain products. I went through my makeup collection today and picked some products I haven't been using in a while.

For my face I used Missha BB cream in no.21, I was using it a lot in summer time, it has a nice coverage, it applies smoothly and also contains SPF 42. For under eye circles I used my all time favourite concealer (absolutely not in "shop the stash" category) Bourjois Healthy mix concealer in colour 52 medium radiance. I set my face with Bella Pierre Mineral foundation in MF002 Ivory, it contains teeny tiny shimmer, but once applied it doesn't really show. For my cheeks I used e.l.f Contouring Blush & Bronzing powder, I used only blush. It's orange-y blush with shimmer and it looks absolutely fabulous on the cheeks. Sorry, I've been neglecting you!

For my eyes I used Too Faced Shadow insurance primer. It's not really in "shop your stash" category, but I'm trying it with different shadows, I think it creases on me with some eyeshadows. Anyone else having the same problem? On my lids I used Bourjois Smoky eyes trio palette in 02 or baroque, it's a nice palette with three shimmery shadows: light gold yellow-ish colour, brown-ish gold and dark brown with olive undertones. Shadows are soft and quite pigmented. Then I lined my eyes with Essence Gel eyeliner in 01 Midnight in Paris. I have it for about a year now and it hasn't dried up, it's awesome. For mascara I used my old trusty Artdeco All in one, you can win it in my giveaway (here). For eyebrows I used another product I use most of the time: Catrice Absolute eye colour in 350 Starlight Expresso.

This picture was taken with flashlight.

For my lips I used Catrice Ultimate Colour in 050 Princess Peach, since it was too light I dabbed some Catrice Ultimate Colour in 100 Lobster Love. They are super creamy and pigmented, I love Catrice lipsticks. I actually really like mixing different lipstick together, so I get an unique colour. Anyone else doing the same? :)

Lightning these days is horrible. It's so hard to be a beauty blogger in winter time, do you agree?

Do you like this kind of posts: fotd and short reviews together? Or do you prefer just fotd in one post and reviews in others? Let me know.

Hope you're having a lovely Monday,

20 dollar makeup challenge (16 € makeup challenge)

20 $ equals 16,2860 €, so I decided to give it an European name: 16 € makeup challenge :). I found out that cosmetics in Slovenia is much more expensive as in America and we don't have a lot of choice when it comes to cheap cosmetics - Essence, some stuff from Catrice (which in fact is cheap, but not enough for this challenge) and maybe S-he and Alverde. Every purchased product was from Muller, just E.l.f. lipstick was bought online (even E.l.f. products from the UK site are more expensive than from the US site. So unfair!).

I originally bought Souffle Touch Blush from Essence and wanted to use it on my cheeks and on my lips, but I didn't like the product so much, and the total price was 18 €. I ended up using E.l.f. lipstick for 1,70 € on my lips and as a blusher instead. You have to work with what you have ;).
And I haven't used any of this products before this challenge, just the lipstick.

Here are the products I used with prices:
- Essence Clear & Matt make-up oil-free liquid foundation 01 Porcelain 3,49 €
- Essence I <3 stage eyeshadow base 2,69 €
- Essence Get it Big! Lashes mascara 2,49€
- Catrice Smokey eyes brush (double sided) 2,89 €
- Essence Eyebrow designer 04 Blonde 1,69 €
- Essence eyeshadow 09 Get ready! 1,89 €
- E.l.f. lipstick (pink shade) 1,70 €

________________________________________________________________
Total: 16,84 €

Firstly, I applied Essence liquid foundation all over my face. It's applies smoothly, it gives light coverage.  Because I didn't buy concealer for this challenge, I decided to use an eyeshadow base as a concealer, because it's matt and I can say it worked pretty well as a concealer, although I think it is little bit to dark for my skin. I applied it on my under eye bags, on imperfections on my face and on my eyelids as a base for shadow.

With smokey eye brush I applied brownish eyeshadow all over my eyelid, crease and on my lower lash line as well. The other side of the brush is angled, so I used that side and mascara as an eyeliner and slightly winged it out. I just put some mascara on the brush and lined just my upper lash line and little bit on my lower as well. Applied mascara and filled in my eyebrows with eyebrow pencil. I used E.l.f. lipstick on my lips and stained my cheeks a little bit with it.

And my 16 € look is complete! :)
Here is the finished look:

My thoughts:
I think the final look came out quite good, although I really missed setting my foundation with powder, my face felt kinda sticky from all those creamy products. And an eyeshadow could be blended a little bit more above the crease. The two sided smokey eye brush worked really well, however I'm not the biggest fan of double sided brushes because I cannot store them in my brush holder and usually forget about them (but they become handy when you travel). Speaking of traveling, you could take just a mascara and an angled brush and you can achieve winged liner without using eyeliners! I don't know if it works well with every mascara though.

The best product from this whole look I think I would have to chose an eye primer, it's like a magnet for your shadow. Even an eyeshadow is not bad quality! (I will probably depot it and put it in my Z palette, because I don't find single shadows really handy). Mascara gives you a really nice volume, although I had to apply several coats. And eyebrow pencil gives a little waxy feel to my brows, which is not a bad thing, because it keeps them in place longer.

What do you think about this look?? Do you like it? Have you ever used your eye primer as a concealer, lipstick as blush and mascara as a liner? I sometimes use lipstick as blush, it was the first time for the other two products :)

Now I would like you to do this tag!! :)

June favourites!

Sorry I've been MIA lately. I've been really busy busy and it's so freakin' hot, I don't even feel like blogging, although you don't really have to move much while blogging :D ...
It July already, I can't believe it! It's time for the monthly favourites:

My favourite fragnance of the month is Essence Like a trip to NY. I found it randomly in Muller and all their fragnances smell so spring/summer-y and so lovely! I wanted to buy all of them (haha. They are not that expensive though). Have you tried them? Which one is your favourite?

Best pimple killer is Purifiying oil Pure nature Organic tea tree and rosemary from Oriflame. I use it before going to bed.

I started using new night cream. I bought it on BB natura and it's from Derma E Ester C Creme with E. My skin in the morning is so soft and hydrated. My previous cream was also Derma E. Derma E never disappoints me :)

I love E.l.f. and of course I had to order some new goodies from their site. E.l.f. lipsticks are really creamy and pigmented. I bought two of them and the only thing I don't like is that they don't have a name on them. That's why I can't tell you the names. Both of them are in the pink family :)

Currently my best nail polish remover is Aveo mandel mit Aceton. It removes glitter like a boss! :)) Bought  it at Muller.

The best movie I saw in June was definitelly 21 jump street. This was the most hilarious comedy I have seen in a really long time. I was  laughing even the next day after seeing a movie. Highly recommend it! :)

I wasn't really reading any book this month, because I had to study for my exams (never ending story). And no particular song was on repeat this month ... (although I still like Payphone :))).

What are yours monthly favourites?

Have a lovely Monday!!

xoxo Deja
