February favourites

I didn't post my favourites post for January, even though I wanted to, but then I got ill and it changed my schedule, so I skipped it. And here are my February favourites ... :)

I started using Essie polishes in December and I really like them. In February I mostly used shades Smokin hot and After school boy blazer. I was really sceptical about Smokin hot, because I never really use this kin of shade. It's dark mauve, grey and slightly purple, but it looks good on my nails and I really like it. After school boy blazer is navy blue, on nails almost looks black, but it's blue ;) (I also got one for you in future giveaway ;)).

I rediscovered Barry M Waterproof eye pencil. It's super creamy, it sets pretty quickly once applied on the eyes, but you can also smudge it if you work pretty fast. As you can see, I got good use out of it :)

Favourite lipstick of the month has to be Rimmel Lasting finish lipstick in 016 Heart breaker. I write about it in my Lippie of the Day post HERE.

I was in need of a new body lotion and I got Afrodita Red grapes Nurturing body milk, which smells the same as their hand cream with grapes. It's moisturizing and leaves me with soft skin. Another bonus is that little bit of product goes a long way.

I've listened to my first audio book and it was from Robin Sharma - The Monk who sold his Ferrari. I loved the story, it's so inspiring and uplifting. After I stopped listening to it I was super motivated to do something epic ;). You can listen to it on YouTube HERE (2 hours 40 minutes).
And Robin Sharma can as my favourite person of the month :). He makes motivational YouTube videos, how to become a leader, how to change habits, how to wake up early, what to do to become successful etc.. Check out his channel HERE.

Another YouTuber I discovered is SoothingSista. Beautiful Stephanie does outfit videos (I love her style), sometimes even beauty videos, vlogs and other randomness. Plus she is stunningly beautiful. Check her channel HERE.

Best movie I watched is animated movie Brave. Princess Merida is determined to make her own path in life, which causes chaos in her kingdom. Granted one wish, Merida must rely on her bravery to undo this curse. Loved the story line and message in this movie.

And that's it for my favourites. What are yours? :)

Products that suck #3

Haven't written a post about regret purchases in a while. Let's just say that when I find something that works, I'll probably stick to it for a whilem that's why I don't have a lot regretable purchases. But then I went through my stash and found some things that didn't work for me and forgot about them, so here they are.

Bare in mind that whatever doesn't work for me, it may work for you, it's the same other way around.

I have dry, sensitive skin and I break out quite easily. In hope to help me with my breakouts I bought Afrodita Young & Pure Deep Cleansing gel + peeling + mask for normal to oily skin. I used it on the certain areas where I tent to break out more, but it broke me out even more and it really dried out my skin. But I would recommend it for oily and acne prone skin, it might work for you. If you have dry skin, stay away from it! :)

I am searching for a new moisturizer, because still haven't found one I would be 100% satisfied with and going through every moisturizer in a drug store I ended up purchasing Olay Anti-wrinkle Nature fusion night cream. Just because it was on sale and just because most people compliment Olay products. That desperate purchase didn't end up well. Once I apply the cream I have a feeling that it just sits on my skin and it doesn't do anything. I even noticed more cloged pores and more black heads.

Another dissapointment has to be Alverde hair mask (glanz-haarkur Zitronenblüte Aprikose). It just didn't do anything to my hair and that's all I have to say about it. At least I can use it as a shaving cream.

I even have few polishes that I don't like, but I still use them, because I secretly cheer for them to get better :D

First one is Kleancolor Nail laquer 236 Chunky holo black. I ordered it few years ago on eBay, because it looked beautiful on pictures, but when I got it I couldn't open it, after awhile I finally did it and the product itself is really thick, has gel-like consistency, once applied takes forever to dry and it chips really fast.

Second one I didn't like is Ruby kisses HDP18 Whiter than White. Brush is terrible (bristles are some sort of a plastic, really uneven), extremely clumsy, the polish smells 10 times worse than any polish I've tried and it just doesn't want to dry once applied.
Are all Ruby kisses polishes like that?

Last one that doesn't work for me is Catrice Quick Dry & High shine Top coat. I know it gives shine, but quick dry? Nah. Now I don't even use any top coat to finish my manicure, just because nothing worked for me and the more coats I apply, the faster polish chips.

Have you tried any of these products? What are your thoughts on them?

Products that suck

Today's post is not really a positive one, but regret purchases need space on my blog, too. I hope I won't need to write a lot of them! :)

Keep in mind, that if something doesn't work for me, it might work for you, it's the same the other way around. Everyone is different.

1. Balea Young Soft & Care Mildes Waschgel mit Vitamin-Cocktail
I was so pissed off at my skin at some point, that I went to a drugstore and buy comepletely random gel wash for my face. So I bought this one from Balea for Young skin. It's gel consistency with quite big granules, so it doesn't do great job as a scrub. After few days my skin was dull and roungher to touch, and I blame this product. I have sensitive skin and it didn't work for me.

2. Afrodita Hydra Thermal Natural Mineral Water + hyaluronic acid 24h nutritive moisturising
I wanted to try a moisturizer with Hyaluron, but this one gave me only dissapointment. I didn't feel like it gives enough moisture to my face and I've seen more cloged pores than before. So, I stopped using it and my skin was better, then I discovered Argan oil :). Like I said, I have sensitive and quite dry skin, but it works for my mother, who has normal skin.

3. Lee Stafford For hair that never grows past a certain lenght Treatment
Don't hate me, I know many of you like Lee Stafford products! I tried to make it work but it didn't. I assume that this product stimulates hair growth (well, it says that in the name), but if I put it on my scalp it made my hair really heavy and I had to wash it again next day. Also, I have sensitive scalp and it caused some itching and mild allergy reactions. Well, ingredients are bad and can't really do anything good for long term use.
If I put it only on my ends, can't really do anything for hair growth, can it?
However, it leaves my hair really soft and smells nice, but there are many other products that do that for my hair. I still finished the jar, but won't repurchase and price is kinda rediculous, too!

4. Lee Stafford Dry shampoo Original for Oily roots
Another Lee Stafford product that doesn't work for me, probably because I don't have oily roots. My hair just gets lifeless and scalp is more dry than oily second day after washing my hair. Once you spay this on looks like a white powder (like a baby powder) and when I had blonde hair it wasn't a problem, because it blended in my colour, but it doesn't work on my dark hair and I had to brush them and massage my scalp like a crazy woman to make it dissapear. It gives little volume, but after an hour or two, my hair looked flat again.

Have you tried any product named here? Did you like them?

Hope you're having a fabulous Thursday!

November favourites

Can you believe it's already December tomorrow? Time to talk about my favourite products/things of the month. I don't have to show you any makeup, because of my eye surgery, but now I can start wearing eye makeup again and that makes me über happy :)

1. I know it's not really a fall colour, but it really made me happy before and after surgery :) Orly polish in Glowstick is perfect neon yellow, I apply it over matte white polish.

2. Has anyone ever mentioned a toothpaste in a favourites post? Well, I've been really liking Himalaya Herbals Ayurvedic Dental cream.

3. My favourite night cream must be this New Dawn Patchouli Healer. I think it really improved my skin texture and it feels so soft in the morning! I will review it and you can also win it in my Christmas giveaway: here.

4. Another skin care products. I have quite sensitive skin and it's hard to find alcohol free toner and that it actually does something for your skin. Kahne Witch hazel toner is a great toner, it does its job like a boss! :)

5. Another product you can win in my giveaway and I love it to pieces, is this Afrodita Anti-age Aroma hand and nail cream. It makes my hands super soft, nourishes it and smells amazing.

6. I read those two books before surgery and I really really really liked them. I cried, I laughed, I didn't want to put them down although it was bed time. Kluun - A Woman Comes to a Doctor/Love life  and The Widower.

What are your monthly favourites? Let me know :)
