November favourites

Man, I have no luck with filming favourites videos. Let's stick with blog posts then :) It's almost middle of December (where are you rushing dear December?), it's about time to talk about November favourites.

I haven't really buy any new products, I just bought what I needed and that was a new eye primer and liquid eyeliner. I bought Avon eye primer and I must say that I am sooo happy with it. I didn't really have high expectations for this product, but my eyeshadow stays on place whole day! WHOLE DAY (important imformation, write it down ;)).

For liquid eyeliner I bought Essence liquid ink eyeliner in waterproof form. And I'm super pleased with it. Even though I had some difficulties at the beginning, since I'm used to those spong-y tips and not brushes, like this one has, but I had no problems getting used to it. I like my winged eyeliner on thicker side and this one does the job. You just have to be careful not to apply it too much on one place otherwise when it drys it will flake off. I had to learn that the hard way :) Other than that, I'm super happy with it!

^.^
Another and the last makeup product I have to mention is Bourjois Healthy mix serum, even though I've been using it for few months now, I forgot to include it into my last favourites post, but better late than never, right? :) I like the texture of it and I love that it gives me nice healthy glow. I'm using the lightest shade 51 Light Vanilla.

I needed a new shaving gel and I bought this Balea Wake up Call Rasier gel for men. Yes, men, because I can be a little manly sometimes ;). It leaves my skin super soft and shaving is made easy as 1,2,3. I just love it. And I think it's cheaper than ladies shaving gel, which is always a plus :) Oh, and I'm shaving my legs with this, what did you think I was shaving, a moustache? :)

Even though I like being in silence, I currently cannot stop listening to Panic! at the Disco's new album Too weird to live, too rare to die. I even listed all the songs on my YouTube channel under Favourite songs (here). The only downside of this album is that it's about 32 minutes long. So, I have it on repeat all the time ... up to 10 times per day. And I'm not even joking!

Now, let's move to the movie part ... I watched few movies, but my favourite has to be, of course, The Catching Fire. OMG, it was so good, I had teary eyes, it was intense and insane! I want to watch it again :) For all of you who don't know that, this is the second movie in The Hunger Games series. If you haven't watched it yet, do it! :)

That's all for my favourites of the month. What are your favourites of the month of November?

Current skincare

I have quite dry skin, even though my T-zone can get a little bit more greasy during the summer. My skin is also sensitive, it can get irritated quite easily, I can break out if not using right products or using dirty brushes ... It's a challenging combo, but my current skin care routine is really good for my skin, that's why I decided to share it with you.

Bare in mind, that skin care is personal, what works for me it may not work for you, same goes the other way around. For me 'less is more' works best and I'm also not using any fancy expensive products, because most of them didn't work for me.

Before bed time I always make sure I clean my makeup. For that I've been currently using Alverde clear Waschcreme. I wet my face, I put little bit of product on my hands and gently massage it into my skin, it's gentle enough to use it around the eyes as well. After I wash the product off my face, I repeat the first step to really clean my makeup-less face, so product can do its magic. If I don't wear makeup that day, I usually skip this step and go directly to step 2.

After that I pat my face with a little face towel (I have a separate towel for my face and change it every few days, so I am not putting bacteria on my face). I continue my skin care with my good trusty Kahne Witch hazel toner. It's so gentle, that I can use it even around my eyes and it gets rid of any last traces of makeup. I reviewed this product: here.

Then I apply Balea Aqua serum. This product provides extra moisture to my face, gives me nice glow and smooth skin. I let it dry for few minutes, then I apply Alverde Wildrose Nachtcreme for dry skin. I always wake up with moisturized and glowy skin, but I'll probably switch to a Argan oil for winter time, just to provide extra moisture.

Around my eyes I apply Derma E Peptides Plus Wrinkle Reverse Eye Creme. This one is probably the most expensive skin care product, but I got it on sale, because Derma E repacked their products. It provides good moisture, I've noticed that my under eye skin is less dry. But you have to be consistent with application and I usually forget to apply it. Bad Deja :)

This is my main night skin care routine, but sometimes I use exfoliant or face scrub to get rid of dead skin cells. For that I love to use Derma E Fruit Enzyme Facial Scrub with Dead Sea Salt. Even though it's a daily cleanser, I cannot use it daily, my skin is too sensitive and I will break out if I exfoliate every day, so I use it once or twice a week, depends on a season and how my skin feels.

When my skin is having a bad day (or week or two) I like to calm it down with good ol' oatmeal. Yes, you've read that right. No other product works that well for my skin as oatmeal does, I even have a little container of oatmeal in my bathroom :). I put little bit of oatmeal in my hand, wet it and massage it in my skin for good minute or so and rinse it. Sometimes I even let it sit on my face for some time. It works as an exfoliant, but it also provides moisture to my skin.

If I get a naughty pimple, I will cure it before bed time with Nixoderm. I bought it on eBay and it was really cheap. It says it cures eczema, pimples, blemishes, rash, athlete's foot, ringworm, scaling skin ... The only complain I have about this product is that it has a really strong not so pleasant smell and it tingles. Once I applied it all over my face ... I will never repeat the same mistake again :)

Every two days or so I exfoliate my lips with Everyday naturals Sumptuous lip polish or I make my own exfoliant with olive oil and sugar. I think that this step is more important for dry lips than using a lip balm.

In the morning I usually just wash my face with water, pat it dry, put some Witch hazel toner on a cotton pad, clean my face, apply Balea Aqua serum and Alverde Sensitiv Tagescreme, which also contains Witch hazel and chamomile. I'm still testing out this moisturizer, but currently I can say that it works ok. I repeat those steps before I apply my makeup during the day, if I don't apply it in the morning, which I usually don't.

As it goes for face masks ... I always forget about them and don't take time to apply them. But when I do, I usually buy those little masks for one use. Usually from Balea or Jeunesse. But my favourite masks have to be homemade masks. If you want any recipes, I can share them with you, let me know :)

Like I said: simple and inexpensive.
I hope this post helps to some of you and if you have any questions, please ask in the comment section. What product do you use?

July favourites

It's time to talk about products and finds that I enjoyed in the month of July. :)

Let's start with skin care. I was introduced to Alverde Wachcreme by my friend and I decided to buy it myself. I really do love this product, because it removes my makeup, clears my skin of dirt and makes it really soft. I won't buy Bioderma ever again :).

For my body I've been loving Alverde body lotion in almond scent. Nourishes my skin, leaves it soft, smells really nice and it doesn't clog my pores (yes, you can have clogged pores even on your body).

Another product I've been loving is Balea Aqua serum which I use underneath my moisturizer. It really provides extra moisture to my skin, is gentle and cheap, which is always a plus :).

I've been using Derma E eye cream for some months now and I always forget to mention it somehow. It's really moisturizing, doesn't irritate my eyes, is natural product and lasts forever. It also works great underneath makeup.

Tea flavor I've been really enjoying is from Yogi tea Forever young. I especially love that every tea bag has an inspirational message, which I really enjoy. I really do love little things like that :) Also whole box is very informative, you even have a yoga pose explained. Of course, flavor is amazing ;), cinnamon and little bit spicy.

I've read so many books lately that I would need a separate post just on books :). But I would recommend anything from Doreen Virtue, she's a "spiritual doctor of psychology". Her books will uplift your spirit.

Products that suck #2 (makeup edition)

And here we are again ... Writing about products that suck. Today I'll present to you some makeup products that didn't work for me.

But keep in mind that whatever doesn't work for me, it may work for you, it's the same the other way around :)

I have quite oily eyelids and all eyeshadows crease on me in no time. Two eyeshadow primers that disappointed me are NYX Eyeshadow Base Skin tone and MUA Professional Eyes Primer. NYX one is basically like a concealer and I got product in my crease before I even applied eyeshadow over it. I can still use it to cover my under eye circles or any blemishes though ;). MUA primer does nothing, is like wearing no primer at all. It's too watery consistency to make your eyeshadows stay, I think.

Another MUA product that suck, has to be their Kiss proof lip stain. It gives my lips barely any colour, it's streaky and product was almost already dry when I got it. After awhile wearing it I got some flakes on my lips as if I had really dry lips, but I exfoliate them on almost daily basis. The smell is also quite strong.
Disappointing lip balm of all times has to be Balea young Fruity kiss. I feel like it just sits on my lips and it's not penetrated at all. Also, I hate the artificial smell of it ... kinda makes me sick.

I already mentioned this product in my "eyeshadow palette collection" post while back and I still hate it. It's NYX glitter Cream Pallet 04 Surreal. I kept it and tried to make it work, but it's impossible. I feel like it's Vaseline mixed with glitter. All of them fall off before I even finish my makeup. Time to throw you away and make a place for another palette ;).

I'm still on a hunt for perfect mascara. I bought quite a bunch new ones in last three months and most of them were disaster to me.
The biggest disappointment was MUA Every Lash volume & Lengthening mascara. I feel like there's no product on the wand. No volume, no length either. It's like air in the mascara packaging.
Second mascara is Essence Get big! lashes volume boost waterproof. I've heard some good things about this mascara from other bloggers, but I just don't see it. It has a big wand, which makes application clumsy, it clumps my lashes together and when I apply it on my bottom lashes it sticks some individual lashes from top and bottom together. I'm not even sorry I don't like you, mascara!
Last mascara in this post is Maybelline The falsies volum' express. I bought it because I've heard from some youtubers it's a great product. Well, I just don't see it ... Its wand is extremely clumsy, I get product all over my lids and ruins my eye makeup, it's not even jet black colour and I see no volume.

Last product I have to mention today, is MUA Pro-brow Ultimate Eyebrow Kit. I heard only good reviews on it, so I guess I'm the weird one :). Brush that comes with the kit fell apart the first day I used it and it was impossible to be precise with it anyways. Little tweezers are not bad, but I really don't like products itself. Two shadows are for brows and they look like they have red undertones. Also they are really powdery and they are not precise to apply. The highlight colour is too dark for my skin tone and that wax to fix in your brows always messes up shadows I applied on brows. I can still use shadows as eyeshadow, so it's not complete waist :). I take eyebrows very seriously.

Enough about products I don't like!
Have you tried any of these products? Did you like/dislike them? Why?

Favourites: April & May

I actually wanted to make a video about my April favourites, but I ran out of film first three times, fourth, fifth and sixth I had a major talking problem, eighth was successful, but I sounded so fake, because I had to re-film it so many times. Then I deleted it and went out before I threw my laptop out the window. Just kidding, I never get THAT stressed :). And here we are ... May is over, so I decided to combine both months together. I hope I won't be too long :)

Starting with beauty products.
3 polishes I've been using a lot are China Glaze 666 Rodeo fanatic, Rimmel 500 Disco ball and Nail polish by H&M Nail Him. They are all in blue family, can you tell I love blue colour?

I was sent OPI Natural nail Base coat from Slovenian site Click2chick, and I really like it. I dries super fast and makes my nail polish stay on longer. Of course I forgot to take a picture of it. It's shy I guess ;). I'll post separate review soon.

For makeup I've been loving Sleek i-Divine Snapshots palette, you can check out review and swatches: here. On my lips I've been wearing Ingrid cosmetics in 292, it's prefect pinkish lavender. You can check out how it looks like: here. Another 2 eyeshadows I've been loving are from MUA shade 16 - matte (perfect matte shade, matches my skin tone) and shade 12 - pearl (check out here). Another MUA product I really like is their Matte prefect primer. My skin is not really oily, but it makes my foundation application smoother and stays on longer.

I randomly bought Felce Azzurra Deo Spray and I've been loving it. It's great deodorant if you have to refresh yourself during the day or if you're travelling.

For my body I've been loving Balea Bodycream Cocos. I tried many body lotions, but I always end up coming back to this one. Makes my skin soft, smells amazing and it's super cheap. Win win.

Now to the health section (I didn't even know I have sections, lol).
I love dandelion root tea. Benefits are endless, here are some: improves digestion and aids weight loss, eases congestion of the liver, helps to ease bloating and aching joints, helps to cure skin conditions, contains calcium, magnesium, iron, potassium, vitamins ...

The one and only supplements I take atm are Spirulina tablets. They contain about 60 % of protein, vitamins (even B12 vitamin), iron, are good for weight/fat loss, give you more energy ... They are good for you :)

Favourite fruit of both months have to be strawberries, which are not on the picture because I ate them all (true story). I put them in smoothies, oatmeal, make an ice cream and repeat ... No, but serious, I love them.

Dear friend borrowed me this wonderful book Iz uma v srce (From mind in to the heart?) written by Maja Debelak "Dobra vila Maja". It's basically book about Law of Attraction and life in general, but you can never get too much information :). I believe it's not translated in other languages.

As for the music goes, I've been listening to a lot of 90's and I blame my home girl Petite Sal for that. Thank you sista ;). And I can't stop listening to Kings of Leon as well. I never listened to them before so much. Now I know all the lyrics by heart. Almost.

Movies? Haven't watched a lot of them, but I liked Iron man 3 ;).

Products that suck

Today's post is not really a positive one, but regret purchases need space on my blog, too. I hope I won't need to write a lot of them! :)

Keep in mind, that if something doesn't work for me, it might work for you, it's the same the other way around. Everyone is different.

1. Balea Young Soft & Care Mildes Waschgel mit Vitamin-Cocktail
I was so pissed off at my skin at some point, that I went to a drugstore and buy comepletely random gel wash for my face. So I bought this one from Balea for Young skin. It's gel consistency with quite big granules, so it doesn't do great job as a scrub. After few days my skin was dull and roungher to touch, and I blame this product. I have sensitive skin and it didn't work for me.

2. Afrodita Hydra Thermal Natural Mineral Water + hyaluronic acid 24h nutritive moisturising
I wanted to try a moisturizer with Hyaluron, but this one gave me only dissapointment. I didn't feel like it gives enough moisture to my face and I've seen more cloged pores than before. So, I stopped using it and my skin was better, then I discovered Argan oil :). Like I said, I have sensitive and quite dry skin, but it works for my mother, who has normal skin.

3. Lee Stafford For hair that never grows past a certain lenght Treatment
Don't hate me, I know many of you like Lee Stafford products! I tried to make it work but it didn't. I assume that this product stimulates hair growth (well, it says that in the name), but if I put it on my scalp it made my hair really heavy and I had to wash it again next day. Also, I have sensitive scalp and it caused some itching and mild allergy reactions. Well, ingredients are bad and can't really do anything good for long term use.
If I put it only on my ends, can't really do anything for hair growth, can it?
However, it leaves my hair really soft and smells nice, but there are many other products that do that for my hair. I still finished the jar, but won't repurchase and price is kinda rediculous, too!

4. Lee Stafford Dry shampoo Original for Oily roots
Another Lee Stafford product that doesn't work for me, probably because I don't have oily roots. My hair just gets lifeless and scalp is more dry than oily second day after washing my hair. Once you spay this on looks like a white powder (like a baby powder) and when I had blonde hair it wasn't a problem, because it blended in my colour, but it doesn't work on my dark hair and I had to brush them and massage my scalp like a crazy woman to make it dissapear. It gives little volume, but after an hour or two, my hair looked flat again.

Have you tried any product named here? Did you like them?

Hope you're having a fabulous Thursday!
