What I ate on Sunday

I figured out I haven't posted "what I ate" post in a long time. Yesterday I took pictures of every food I ate and here is my "menu" :). Let's see what I ate on Sunday.

For breakfast I had cooked oatmeal with half a banana, almonds, honey and little bit of cocoa. And of course a cup of green tea. Have to make this breakfast you can read it here. I had my breakfast around 10:00.

I had a snack around 12:30 and it was pomegranate. I haven't eaten them in a long time and I realized how much I love this fruit :).

For lunch, around 15:00, I made pancake (one egg, whole wheat flour, soy milk and little bit of salt, this makes 2 pancakes) and filled it with some mozzarella cheese, lettuce, 1/4 of avocado, cabbage and some spices. I usually eat it like a sandwich (with my hands). Next time I'll put feta cheese in it, mozzarella makes whole pancake wet. This has been my favourite lunch lately. It's so super yummy!
And I had a cup of green tea with it as well.

For afternoon snack (I think it was around 18:00) I had regular yogurt with half of banana, little bit of almonds and raisins.

I had dinner around 21:00 and it was zucchini, carrots and beans with quinoa. And I had a mandarin for a "dessert" :).

Now I'm off to make me a pancake and fill it with veggies :]

Why do you wear makeup TAG

I've came across with "Why do you wear makeup" tag for quite sometimes and I think it's such a fun tag to do. So, let's just get started :)

1. When did you begin loving makeup?
I've been attracted to makeup since I was a kid. I had one of those makeup palettes for little kids (which are probably bad for you) or always tried on mums lipsticks or put some before bed time (and washed it off of course), just to play around. I was even drawing on the wall with grandma's lipstick! :)
When I got older I mostly wore just black mascara, and then I started wearing black eyeliner and foundation, just basic. When I was around 16/17, I started using more and more makeup, my love for it has grown. Now, we make a cute couple :D.

2. How do you feel without makeup?
Honestly, I feel naked, I don't feel like myself. I look completely different without makeup. I rarely go out without it, I put at least mascara, concealer and blush on, and I feel much better already. I feel much more confident with makeup and I don't find that as a bad thing. It's the same way when I don't wear nail polish.

3. What do you love about makeup?
I love everything about it. I love how I can make my eyes bigger, I can make my lashes longer, I can give me some cheekbones or hide my flaws ... And I love playing with different styles, colours, I love that there are no rules (well, there are "basic rules", but rules are meant to be broken anyways :)) and you can play around with it. I think makeup is art, and I've been attracted to art my whole life. For me, makeup is self expression.

4. Three 'holy grail' items.
Only three? Ok, let's try.

I really love Bourjois Healthy mix foundation, it's been repurchased many times. Suits my dry and sensitive skin the best.

My all time favourite mascara is Artdeco All in one mascara. I can never go wrong with this mascara. I could not live without mascara, anyways.

And highlighter. For that I usually use light shimmery eyeshadows.

+ lipsticks, blushes, contour etc :D You get the picture. haha

Why do you wear makeup? I would love to read your posts

Workout routine: the workout

I decided to do whole series around my workout routine: the workout, pre-workout, post-workout routine, favourite workout, why do I workout, gear etc. Let's start with the workout today. I will introduce you to some of my favourite workout routines and how I got introduced to working out.

My all time favourite workout routine is HIIT workout (high intensity interval training). This means short time (from 10 - 20 minutes), but you have to give it your maximum, workout should feel intense. I am not "one hour in the gym" girl. I like my workouts to be short, intense and fun. Also, fast anaerobic workout boosts your metabolism and you are burning calories for a long time after you finished your workout. You don't need any equipment (I use basic), so it's actually for free.

My workout diary and Gymboss interval timer.

I got introduced to HIIT when I discovered BodyRock.tv. After that I started working out on regular basis. I didn't had an interval timer when I started but I always managed to do a workout. I also did most of them in modified version, I was in such a bad shape, let me tell you.

I like bodyweight workouts, no equipment needed or minimal equipment, that's why I don't like BodyRock workouts so much anymore. I still follow them and get inspired by their videos, blog, pictures they post (I like their yoga flow workouts a lot though), but I prefer Zuzka Light's workouts much more (she is one of the co-founders of BodyRock and she started her own Youtube channel). She's my superhero! :)

Jillian Michales 30 day shred is also HIIT, which I have also tried. It's fun, but I can't imagine I could be doing same workout for 10 days in a row (there are 3 levels, you suppose to do every level for 10 days). I like dynamic thing, like mixing up my workouts, so I don't get sick and tired of it.

In general, I really like lifting weights and skipping with a jump rope. I like having strong arms, which I never had in my life. You can use weight in many other ways, too. They are so handy (I will tell you about that in "my gear" post). And skipping is such a great cardio training, you can burn much more calories with it than with running.

I bought You are your own gym book last year and it covers basically everything you need to know about nutrition, why bodyweight exercises, what is "fitness", expains some myths, and the most important part: it has explained exercises and also a program for workingout. I recommend this book, it's a good starting point!

You can buy it here: click

I go jogging every now and then, but it's not so fun. I prefer going for long walks, walking is such a great cardio and always helps me to clear my mind.

I got this book about yoga as a gift from a friend. Thanks :) <3

This summer I discovered yoga, I've been doing it every now and then when I don't feel like sweating too much, but I still want to do a badass workout. Yoga is great for your body and soul (well, I would say that any other workout is), it's good for toning your muscles and flexibility. And you can lose weight with yoga, too. I was actually thinking about taking a yoga class.

Here are some sites/YT channels I like to follow:

Now, that I have been working out for quite a few years now, I usually put together my own workout. I always combine cardio and strength training. Some days I do just cardio or extra cardio after the main workout, or I incorporate some of my equipment or I just do bodyweight. However I feel like it.

Official Gymboss interval timer site: click. I bought it on eBay though.
I believe there are interval timer apps for your phone, but I'm not familiar with those.

I do interval training, for example: 10 seconds of rest to write down my reps or take a sip of water and 50 seconds of work, 12 rounds in total, that means 12 minute long workout.
Or I do workout for time, for example I do 10x pushups, 20x jump squats, 10x pull ups, 30x side lunge jumps (this is one cycle) and I repeat that 5 times. When I finish I stop my timer and write the time down in my workout diary.
Third option is that I do for example the same exercises as I written before (pushups, jump squats ...) but I do a countdown, usually 12 - 15 minutes and try to do as many rounds a possible within that time.
I make sure I always give it my maximum effort. This is the most important thing about HIIT.

ToneItUpCom: click

I have never gone to a gym, ever. I hate working out in crowded places anyways. When I do my workout is just me and I, so I can give 110 %. And that's basically it :).

What kind of workout do you do? Have you ever tried HIIT? Yoga?

Have a lovely day,

Halloween series: HALLOWEEN MADNESS

I've done so many Halloween looks this month, that I am happy that I don't have to do any of them any more (can you believe that I said that? lol). Don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed doing them, but on the other side, they could take me up to 6 hours (with photographing, writing a post, cleaning afterwards etc.). Now it's time to take it easy :).

Today's post will be just a recap of all my Halloween looks/posts I did this month and give you some last minute costume ideas.
Let's start with whole makeup & costume looks. Click on the picture to see a whole post on the look.

Which one is your favourite? I love them all equally, I think.

I also did one quickie. How to look unpresentable, sick, beaten up and definitely not sexy and pretty under 10 minutes:

Halloween manicures:

And I suggest you make this pie for a perfect autumn/Halloween time, or maybe eat it during watching scary Halloween movies in the evening :] (click on the picture to see the recipe).

If you still don't know what to wear on Halloween. You can always go out as Justin Bieber. All you need is a hoodie and sunglasses. Baby, baby, baby never say never!

You can also go crazy and dress casual, don't do any crazy makeup, just cover yourself in glitter and be Edward Cullen! Shine bright like a Vampire! :]
Or be Vanilla face (Bella), put that retarded face on and cover your face with really light foundation.
(this is meant to be a joke, sorry if I insulted any Twilight fans ^^).

If you are not feeling Halloween-y at all, you can always be invisible man/woman and don't show up anywhere.:)
_________________________________________________________________________________

I would really like to thank you for reading those posts and thank you for still talking to me after seeing some crazy looks :P. I thought you would think I'm completely crazy :].
Thank you for taking your time and commenting. Means the world to me <3
Oh, and I managed to blog every single day in October. This is insane :)

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

P.S: I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to see your Halloween looks, so if you tweet them to me, post them on my facebook wall or email them to me, I will be the happiest! :)
