I was contacted by Ekobutik online store to choose three products I would like to have and they would send me one of their choice for me to try out. I received Desert Essence Thoroughly Clean Face Wash - original for Oily & combination skin Eco-Harvest Tea Tree Oil and Awapuhi. You know I don't have oily or combination skin, I actually completely overseen that information, but my skin still breakouts pretty easily, so I must say that is suitable for dry skin as well.
On their website they sell organic teas, super foods, mineral makeup, natural cosmetics and perfumes, products for home and accessories. All products and items are cruelty free.

Prejela sem Desert Essence Thoroughly clean čistilo za obraz za mastno do mešano kožo z oljem čajevca in awapuhi-jem. Kot veste, nimam mastne ali mešane kože, ampak sem infomacijo za kakšno kožo je popolnoma spregledala, ampak lahko rečem, da je ustrezno tudi za suho kožo.
Na njihovi spletni strani prodajajo organske čaje, super živila, mineralna ličila, naravno kozmetiko in parfume, izdelke za dom in nakit. Vsi izdelki so cruelty free.

Desert Essence Thoroughly clean face wash comes with 250 ML / 8.5 FL OZ clear plastic bottle with a pump. Packaging is recyclable and biodegradable, which is always a plus. Bottle is quite big, so it's not the most convenient for travelling, but you can easily transfer it into a smaller bottle.
Desert Essence Thoroughly clean čistilo ima 250 ml plastično embalažo s pumpico. Embalažo se lahko reciklira in biorazgradljiva, kar je super podatek. Embalaža je kar velika in zaradi tega ni najbolj priročna za potovanje, vendar se lahko izdelek z lahkoto prelije v manjšo embalažo.

Product is in liquid form, has slightly yellow-brown transparent colour. Smells like tree tree oil (can you imagine? :)), very clean and fresh. Because products is liquid, it's the best to bring your hands really close to the pump and get the product in hands slowly, otherwise it will spill.
Izdelek je v tekoči obliki, ima rumeno-rjavo prosojno barvo. Diši po olju čajevca, (meni osebno) diši sveže in čisto :). Ker je čistilo v tekoči obliki, je najboljše, da se roko čim bolj približa pumpici, ko se dozira, v nasprotnem primeru se lahko razlije in poškropi na vse strani.

I use this cleanser mostly at night (even though it says twice a day). Firstly, I remove my makeup, moisten my skin again with water, use about 3 pumps of a products in my hand and massage it with my fingers in my face avoiding eye and mouth area. I accidentally got in my eyes once and in it stung, it also doesn't taste delicious :). If your skin has open wounds or cuts, it will probably sting a little. With massaging it lathers a little, after one minute I rinse with cold water and pat it dry with face towel. After that my skin feels slightly rubbery, but it's glowing and healthy looking. After I use my face toner, the rubbery feeling is gone.
Čistilo povečini uporabljam za nočno nego obraza (čeprav piše dvakrat dnevno). Najprej očistim obraz vseh ličil, nato pa ponovno zmočim obraz, uporabim približno 3 pumpice čistila na roki in začnem masirati, izognem se očem in ustom. Se mi je že zgodilo, da sem izdelek po nesreči dobila v oči in je precej peklo, pa tudi najboljšega okusa ni :). Če imate na koži odprte rane in ureznine zna malce peči. Z masažo se čistilo peni, po eni minuti si obraz sperem z mrzlo vodo in ga osušim z brisačo za obraz. Po uporabi je koža na dotik malce gumjasta, vendar je sijoča in izgleda zdravo. Ko uporabim tonik, gumjast občutek izgine.

Even though cleanser is meant to be used on face, I used it as a body wash as well, because skin on my body can be really dull and has no healthy glow whatsoever, to see if it would help. But I didn't use it for that long to notice any difference, but I must say that it made my skin feeling really refreshed. Because of its refreshing after feel and because it removed excess oil from the skin (but doesn't make you feel dry), I would especially recommend it for warmer season, when skin usually tents to be oilier (mine too :)). Also scent reminds me of spring and summer :)
Čeprav je čistilo namenjeno za obraz, sem ga preizkusila tudi na telesu, ker je moja koža nima naravnega zdravega sijaja in je malce "dolgočasna". Vendar ga nisem uporabljala dovolj redno, da bi opazila spremembo, vendar lahko rečem, da je koža bila precej bolj osvežena. Ker ima čistilo osvežujoč učinek in ker odstrani odvečno maščobo (vendar ne izsuši), bi ga predvsem priporočala za toplejše mesece, ko je koža splošno bolj mastna (tudi moja:)). Pa tudi vonj me spominja na pomlad in poletje.

I've been using this product for a month now and I noticed that my skin is more glowing and silky soft in the morning. I also noticed that my nose blackheads are smaller right after I wash my face, this face wash also helped me heal some random breakout I got, under skin pimple was also cured faster. It really disinfects and cleans skin.
Opazila sem, da je moja koža bolj sijoča in mehka na dotik po enem mesecu uporabe. Ravno tako sem opazila, da se orgci na nosu skrčijo in zmanjšajo takoj po uporabi, ravno tako mi je čistilo pomagalo pozdraviti nekaj mozoljčkov in celo podkožni mozolj. Čistilo res dezinficira in očisti kožo.

Oatmeal saved my skin

I had a little break out series on my face during the summer. I was eating clean, cleaning my brushes regularly, drinking plenty of water, taking off my makeup every day before sleep ... but still I got annoying pimples and the worst part is that I get a pleasure from squeezing them. GUILTY!
Luckily, I know how to make my skin feel better and today I'll tell you how.

I use oatmeal in my skin care routine. Yup, you've read that right.

Oatmeal acts like an exfoliant, it's really gentle and moisturizes the skin.
I actually keep some oats in a plastic container in my bathroom. Make sure you clean up the mess afterwards, my mum was asking me if I ate my breakfast in bathroom :D

How do I use it?
I put some oatmeal in my hand, put some water in there and oats become softer. Then I massage it all over my face avoiding the eye area, because it's extremely delicate. I massage for about a minute or so and then rinse. You'll notice how your skin is soft, fresh and brighter. I was doing this routine for about a week and my skin got (almost) back to normal.

You can also make a face mask. You can mix your oatmeal with some yogurt or honey, apply it to your face, wait for 5-10 minutes and then rinse.

You can also use it in the same way for your body. You can just use it as a body scrub (you'll just need bigger amount) or make a bath out of it or even just for your feet or hands. You're creative people, you can figure out other innovative ways of using oatmeal on your body :)

Kahne Witch Hazel face tonic REVIEW

I can't believe I haven't introduce you to my favourite face tonic yet: Kahne Witch Hazel tonic. I mentioned it few times before, but never done full review on it. Well, let's fix that ;)

I heard that witch hazel toners are mild and suitable for sensitive skin, which I totally have. I originally wanted to buy Witch hazel tonic off eBay, but I did a little research and wanted to know if I can get alcohol free witch hazel tonic in Slovenia. And I found it in Drugstore Tuš and Mercator.

Toner comes in 200 ml plastic bottle, which has small opening on the top, so you can control how much product to use. I use it in my day and night skin care routine, sometimes I even clean my face with it after a workout. I've used it also on other people before applying moisturizer and makeup. Everyone said it feels really nice and fresh. To me it smells like a really fresh cleaner, it's not unpleasant, but it's not the best either.

I put some product on cotton round and wipe my face with it. This tonic has hydrating and soothing effect and acts against dry, stressed, sensitive skin lacking moisture. It leaves the skin softer, smoother and regulated its pH balance. I feel like it really brings back moisture to my face and tightens my pores. The best part is that it doesn't contain any alcohol, so you can use it around your eyes, it doesn't irritate them at all. It also helps to remove last traces of makeup.

What it says on the bottle:
- mildly cleanses very sensitive skin,
- calms red and irritated skin,
- astringent effect, tightens pores,
- refreshes skin and restores its moisture,
- also suitable for cleansing the eye area.

Ingredients: Aqua, Hamamelis Virginiana Extract, Sodium Benzoate, Tilia Cordata Extract.

The only downside is that it could be available in more stores. I can only get it in one store in my home town.

I highly suggest you get this tonic, especially if you have sensitive skin and want really gentle skin care. I'm already on my 4th or 5th bottle ;). Price is around 4 - 5 €.

I love argan oil!

I've heard good things and good things only about argan oil, so I had to try it out. Today, I will share with you my experience with argan oil, enjoy ;)

100 % natural and 100 % organic

I bought my first bottle of Argan oil in late January or early February, I don't remember exactly. Anyways, I googled it and tried to find the cheapest version, but still 100 % pure. So I found 125 ml bottle for 10,19 € and I think that was the cheapest I could find. I ordered one more face cream and had free shipping, how cool is that? ;)

Too bad bottle is not dark, you have to keep it away from the sun and heat.

 

 

 

 

So, I massaged it into my face and neck first night and expected a miracle in the morning. Well, the miracle didn't happen to me, so I was kinda disappointed. I continued to use it for couple of nights, I actually applied it over my night moisturizer. I assumed that it started clogging my pores, that's why I stopped using it for a week or so. For that week I used regular face moisturizers and my face was not getting any better and I didn't see any changes. I wrote that like I expected a botox face in the morning.

It's really easy to use and measure it right with this top.

After that week I decided to give argan oil another chance to prove itself. Before bed time I always take off my makeup, sometimes I use face scrub (once a week or twice), tone my face and then massage argan oil into my skin. This time I used it without any other moisturizers or creams. After three nights I was pleasantly surprised. My skin was feeling softer, bigger pimples were gone, after one week even my nose blackheads shrunk.

Oil for younger skin! It contains Vitamin E that is a strong anti-oxidant, makes your wrinkles less visable and makes your skin younger looking! ;)

I suffered with dry skin my whole winter (we still have hard core winter in here) and this is the only thing that helped it to recover. Sometime I even apply it in the morning if I feel like I need extra hydration. My conclusion is: I love argan oil ;)

Moa the green balm REVIEW

I discovered MOA the green balm about two years ago and this is probably my third jar, especially I love to use it in winter time. It really is an amazing balm, let's take a look why.

Balm comes in white jar in a "natural" looking box, surrounded with information about the balm. The box is kinda cute, it says "Boo!" when you open it :).

 

Ingredients. Balm is 100 % natural.

Smell off the balm is nothing special, it smells like herbs, it's not stong, so it doesn't bother me. Colour is sheer green. Consistency is thick, once you apply it on your skin, it applies smoothly, it melts from the warmth of your skin.

100 % healing balm . Keep me handy for any little crisis.
Crammed with organic yarrow and lots of other lovely stuff. Use me on dry skin, bumps, bites, grazes, minor burns, after shaving and as a cleanser.

Smudge and smear me all over your lovely body, but please don't stick me in your eyes!

This wonderful balm has many uses. I usually use it on bruises, mild wounds (knife cuts) it really helps and fastens healing process. I apply it to dry patches on my face before sleep, especially now in winter time. I use it as a lip balm it leaves my lips smooth, moisturized and soft. I also rub it to my feet before sleep and put socks on, let it absorb, it softens any dry/hard skin. Sometimes I use it as a hand cream, if my skin feels dry. I use it before and after shaving (I put it above my eyebrows and shave with little razor, I apply it after shaving my legs to moisturize them) ...

I recommend using it before bed time, because it's very thick consistency and it's not absorbed so quickly. Your skin is regenerating in night time, and this balm helps it to recover. You'll wake up with amazingly soft skin. This is a must have product for winter.

It costs 15 € + shipping, which is probably the only down side of this wonderful product. But I am not cheap when it comes to skin care. I prefer quality over quantity.

Homemade face scrub for beautiful skin

Is your skin dull looking? Do you want softer skin? Do you have dead skin cells that are bothering you? I have a fast and  simple skin remedy, that will make your skin wonderful again. And you probably have all three ingredients at home.

Things needed:

- extra virgin olive oil

- honey (raw honey is the best, but whatever honey will do)

- organic sugar (it's best to use organic for your skin, it much more pure)

- (this one is optional) an empty container to save your face scrub (it depends on how much scrub do you make, you can save it for another time)

- and you will need a bowl and spoon to measure and mix everything together :)

Measure two and a half table spoons of sugar and put it in a bowl. Pour one spoon of extra virgin olive oil into the bowl and add one and a half spoon of honey. Mix all three ingredients together. If the consistency is too thick, add some more oil and honey.

Apply this scrub to freshly washed face, massage it all over your face for at least a minute, avoiding eye area, because it's extremely delicate. You can even apply this scrub all over your body, it won't do any harm :).

Rinse all that sugar from you face (and body) with warm water.

Afterwards I apply face toner (which is also homemade!) and a night cream, although the skin is already moisten from olive oil. I usally do scrubs, masks etc. at night time before bed, just in case my skin gets red, so it can regenerate during the night, that's why I apply night cream afterwards :). 

I save it in a clean container .

Extra virgin olive oil will not clog your pores, it's actually recommended by so many beauty gurus and cosmetologists as a beauty "helper". Honey is a natural lightener for your skin (and hair) and sugar works as exfoliator, goes into you pores and cleans them.

I would use this scrub 3 - 4 times a week. I have very sensitive skin, and if it doesn't harm my skin, noone's skin will be harmed :D.

Homemade face toner

I have used so many face toners in my life, and it seemed all of them just irritated my skin. I have very sensitive skin, so alcohol in toner is not an option for me ... got so many allergies, break outs and I can go on and on ... Not so long ago I came across with this recipe for a face toner and decided to try it out. I feel in love with it, and haven't used any other face toner in a while. :)
Here is my little "secret".

Things needed:
- organic apple cider vinegar (ACD) - it must be organic one, because everything you put on your skin is absorbed, so it's the best to be the purest (I bought mine at DM)
- distilled water or bottled water
- and of course an empty container (I bought mine with a spray cap in Mueller)

I ran out of my ACD, that's why  picture is not taken by me :)

Pour the apple cider vinegar in a clean empty container till it's half full. Fill up the container with water, so you have a 1:1 mixture. Shake it a little and you are ready to use it.
Apple cider vinegar has so many health benefits: recommended for a weight loss, fights allergies, prevents muscle soreness, strenghtens your immune system ... and of course it cures skin problems such as acne.

I don't really have any acne, but from time to time I break out and it really frustrates me. Since I started using this toner on a daily basis, I found my skin much softer, I breakout less and even blackheads are less noticeable. ACD helps balance out PH levels of our skin. I'm not any kind of a skin doctor, so I don't know a lot how it works, I just know it works magic :)

I use it before going to bed, because the smell is not the nicest one, but you get used to it. I spray three to four pumps in to a cotton pad and gently wipe it all over my freshly washed face (no makeup!). I don't rinse it, I let it air dry and afterwards I apply my night cream. In the morning I wash my face very well to get rid of the smell. Otherwise you can smell it during the day. Been there :P.
