Most educational cartoon ever

Probably not, but I have still learnt a lot from it and I was surprised by its positive message. Which cartoon you ask? Happy Feet 2. I turned on the TV while I was eating lunch (yes, yes, I know, it's not good to watch or read while eating, but you would do it too, I usually always eat alone, and I sometimes need a "company" :)) and it just started. And I was like: "Oh, cute, penguins are so adorable and look at those little ones, fluffy and little." Seriously, penguins are one of my favourite animals. Ok, stop blabbing, get to the point.

Source: Pinterest.

Character that was so inspiring to me was Will the Krill. He decides to be different and starts swimming against the swarm, eventually he will come to an end. And he does. And what was there? He has never seen ocean in this way -no other krills, just pure beautiful sea. One of the other krills, Bill, joins him. Bill is constantly reminding him to go back where is safe and be normal again. He even says: "I fear the worst, Will." And Will replies: "I fear the worst too, but only because fearing the best is an absolute waste of time!
Little Will has such a strong will (his name must have been chosen wisely :)), he is brave enough to challenge himself to evolve. He even tries eating meat, he says: "I'm moving up the food chain! I'm gonna chew on something that has a FACE!". Even though at the end he loses his mind a little and says that he should have listened to Bill, who had left him eventually, but they meet again and Bill says to him that he was right all along. Surprisingly, he convinced all other krills to join him and they start dancing, because it makes them happy ("main point" of the movie is actually dancing after all :)).

Source: Pinterest.

Will the krill reminded me of strong (human) individuals, who decide to do something different, to change their lives, even though they are "small", unimportant, at "the end of the food chain". They not listen to what other people say and think, are not afraid to be bold and even though life is not a beach, but a mountain, they keep going. It can be hard, but small steps count.
Always follow your heart, not listen to others and get out of your comfort zone. You'll never know, if you never try.

I know that I turned on TV, because it was meant for me to see this movie. I felt so happy and motivated afterwards. Movie also had many other messages, but this story was the one I wanted to share with you. Have you ever been so inspired and positively surprised by a movie or even better - a cartoon?

I know, totally random post, but I just had to share it. I love movies and cartoons ... maybe I'll share more inspirational stories from movies in the future, if you find it interesting :)

Birthday post

I turned 24 today. Happy birthday to me! And thank you dear mother who gave birth to this amazing person ;)
I got inspired to write this post months ago and finally the day has come to publish it! Most people at my age and older don't get excited about birthdays, but I will tell you why I am!

Firstly, my birthday signifies that I'm alive. If we don't celebrate life everyday (which we should), birthday can be our "reminder" to do so. Yeah, getting old may suck if you think so, but age is just a number really. You are never too young or old to set new goals and dream big. You can achieve anything. Society creates this walls for us. You can get in shape in your forties, you can get a new hobby at sixties, you can leave school and pursuit your dreams ... you just have to overcome one thing - fear. And you create it yourself, it's just an illusion. No matter what people say or think about your decisions, at the end of the day it's still YOUR life. I got so many "recommendations" what school should I go to, what job should I choose, what partner should I date, what should I wear, where should I go or not go ... But you know what - that's what others wanted for me and I wouldn't feel myself if I followed their words.
Now to the physical body - with healthy lifestyle you can slow the aging process, face yoga, superfoods and loads of water are your best friends. Don't start thinking of curing your body when you're already "damaged". I have stretch marks to remind me of that :)

Secondly, 24 means that I've been alive for 24 years, I've been living on this beautiful planet Earth for 24 years and I'm looking forward for many more! It's such a blessing to be alive and I'm extremely grateful for everything in my life. I believe that everyone has a purpose on this planet, but it's up to a person what wants to do with his life. Stop worrying about that number, stop making old jokes, because they may become your truth, and start living - find your purpose, have fun and take nothing for granted. Put your negative energy of complaining towards finding yourself, education, happiness, be grateful for what you have, what have you achieved, what have you become ...

Thirdly and lastly, I have a theory that summer kids get excited about their birthdays more than others. It's summer after all :). And Leos can be really passionate about just everything. ;)

And here I am, 24 years old (or should I say young?), feeling amazing, I have never felt so strong (mentally and physically) and motivated to conquer this life. And I even feel younger as I felt when I was 18.

Now, go out and shine bright like a diamond ;), no matter  what age you're at.

Have a blessed day and weekend.

Books that changed my life for better. Literally.

And I'm not even exaggerating.
I promised to introduce you to some books (and I mention some movies, too) that changed my life. They helped me to grow as a person, heal me mentally and physically, I started achieving my goals ... taught me to love my life. Every bit of it.
Let's just start with the post already, Deja :) ...

That is one dirty closet door! And crazy hair. ^^

1. Maybe you have maybe you haven't heard of the Law of Attraction. It was unfamiliar term for me until I watched movie The Secret. It's basically a documentary, that introduces you to basic information what law of attraction is about. It's a good starting point, but it doesn't teach you or show you much in depth how to use law of attraction. You'll realize that everything in life (bad, good and ugly) happens because you attracted that in your life. It's hard to swallow at first, but once you start accepting that and start thinking positive thoughts and become grateful for every little thing in your life, your life will turn upside down ...
Movie is based on a book The Secret by Rhonda Byrne, she also produced the movie. The book has maybe few more stories and more examples, other than that is basically the same.

Conclusion: movie and book basically the same, good starting point to get introduced to the law of attraction, I recommend movie, but if you also read a book, it won't harm you ;)

2. Second book from the same author I highly recommend is The Magic. This is no ordinary book. It has 28 chapters, you read one chapter per day, because one chapter means one exercise you have to do that day (each exercise is fully explained with examples). It start with "count you blessings" (how and what to be grateful for), "magic rock", "magical relationships", "magical health", "magic money", "have a magical day" ... you get the picture. After 28 days you will have all the information you need to know to have a magic life and you can do and achieve amazing things. You start achieving them in the process already though :).

Conclusion: let's 28 day magic begin, it's a must have

3. Just recently I've read The Law of Attraction: Basic teachings of Abraham from Esther and Jerry Hicks. Esther is translating from a group of non-physical entities called Abraham. Jerry is asking all sort of questions and Abraham answers. It's much more in depth version of Law of Attraction then the Secret. All your questions are probably answered in this book AND it introduces you to other universal laws. The day I finished reading this book which was borrowed from a library, I bought a copy for myself. It's just one of those books you re-read numerous times and always get more from it. I like having my own copy because I like highlighting and marking quotes, sentences, things that seem important to me.

Conclusion: in depth Law of Attraction experience, get your own copy, so you re-read answers you forget

4. Now, let's move a little bit away from Law of Attraction. Books that will teach you about life in general, the power of positive affirmations, how to love and heal yourself are all books from Louise L. Hay. This amazing lady has written many inspirational books, they can totally change your mental state of mind. And she had some rough times in her life - sexual abuse, had to give her child for adoption, cancer ... I own Heal your life, you get to know everything about life, experiences and how to work on yourself. I've also read Life! Reflections On Your Journey, borrowed from library. In this book she deals with growing up, relationships, work, health, spirituality, aging, death ... How to overcome any problems in your life and what LIFE is all about (you know that thing in between your birth and death).
She has over 20 books and is still active (she is 86 years old!), including books with just positive affirmations for every day. Here is about Louise on wikipedia: click.
Watch a movie You Can heal your life on YouTube: click or with Serbian subtitles: click.

Conclusion: get all her books, you won't regret it! :)

5. Last, but definitely not least, is book from the toughest fitness trainer and life couch Jillian Michaels: Unlimited: How to build an exception life. This was actually my first "serious" book I've read in English, as a slow reader I read it in 2 days, I think that tells you how amazing it is :). And I absolutely adore how she writes! What is book about, you ask?
Lose the chains ... There's an anecdote I came across in a self- help book years ago that I have never forgotten:
A father and his young son are at the circus. The son sees a huge elephant shackled with flimsy, rusted chains. Turning to his dad, the boy asks, "Isn't that elephant strong enough to break free from those chains?"
"Of course he is," his father answered. "It's just that he's been chained like that since he was too small and weak to break free, and now he doesn't know the difference."
I hate to say it but, buddy, you are the elephant in this story.
You can leave the job you hate, You can leave the alcoholic spouse. You can go back to school. Want to know what's holding you back? Absolutely nothing but you. - from chapter 6, "Get an Attitude Adjustment".

Conclusion: really engaging writing, I found it better than book The Secret (oops), READ IT!

I suggest you get all this books, you can borrow them, but I prefer having my own copies, I can re-read whatever I want at 3AM at night if I want t, to lift me up whenever I feel down, and because I like to mark/highlight important points.

All English books were bought on Book Depository (I search on bestseller.si and then you're redirected to Book Depository).
Slovenian books were bought: Svet Knjige, Felix or somewhere else (just google it to find the cheapest version ;)).

Have you read any of them? I would love if you recommend me some books in the comment section!!

How to have an amazing year/life

Perfect time to write this post! :)
I think we have all reached a rock bottom at some point when nothing seems to be going according to our plan, we become grumpy, people around us are unhappy, we are unhappy, stressed, we start hoping for better life. Today, my friend, I will introduce you some ways how to be a happier person and how to attract good things in your life.

Don't sweat the small stuff and keep an open mind...change is a necessary FORCE
Source: Pinterest

1. Start your day right: count your blessings. Feeling of gratitude is one of the most powerful practices you can do. When you are grateful with what you already have (family, love, friends, health, money, work, relationships, passion, happiness, love, life, nature, material goods), no matter how small it may be, you will see those things increase in your life. And this will lead you to happiness. When you are happy and positive, people around you will be happy and you will attract only good things. Start your sentence: "I'm truly thankful/grateful/blessed to have _(what?)__ because _(why?)__". Try to really feel it - you can write it down or just go through them in your mind, I recommend doing that in the morning, so you'll start your day right :). And one more thing, there's no such thing as too much gratefulness.

2. Love yourself. Not in a narcissistic way - there is a HUGE difference between confident/feeling good in your own skin and "egoistic lovers" (everyone has 2 aspects of themselves: Soul and Ego, but that could be long discussion, maybe next time :)). Once you accept yourself the way you are, other people will start falling in love with you AND because I'm such a fitness freak, loving yourself is a good point when your body is more capable of changing (great, ay? :)) It all starts in your own head actually. The longest relationship you have to have your whole life is with yourself, if you can't stand yourself, no one else will. That's why is so important to have healthy relationship with yourself. Exercise you can do: start repeating in your head "I love myself" and "I appreciate myself.", try to really feel it. It really doesn't take any time, since you can do it wherever and you can do it up to 300 times a day (constantly repeating in your mind). And work on yourself, maybe meditate, go for a walk, talk to yourself ... Just be kind to yourself.

3. Never do anything you wouldn't want to happen to you. In other words: dear friend, karma is a bitch, because what goes around comes around. Be a good person, be good to other people, and most importantly be good to animals and nature, they need love too. Don't steal, lie, litter, gossip, fight and other bad stuff ... So we will all end up in heaven :P

4. Another good point is, don't sweat the small stuff ... and it's all small stuff!! Just stop worrying so much, calm down, slow yourself, enjoy the moment, don't stress, inhale deeply, exhale fully, just relax ... It's not even that hard when you stop being so stubborn and stop telling yourself you can't control your life. Guess what, you "wear" your brain, you are not on an autopilot! Life is (pardon my French) f*cking beautiful, don't waste it being worried and stressed. Be happy <3. You can try to meditate, go for a walk, dance, sing, clean ... try to do anything that relaxes you and calms you mind.

I love ...

In every inspirational/motivational book or in books about life in general, you'll read to focus on thing you love. Those things I mentioned in this post may be a little bit random, but whenever I do, see, think or make any of them, they make me the happiest.
Those are not things I've been loving lately, I would say I love them every day ... :)

There is something special about red nail polish. It's so feminine, sophisticated, classy, yet still enough edgy and daring for my liking. I have more than 10 nail polishes in "red family" :).

I love being a blogger. Although I was kinda "forced" to start blogging, now I don't ever want to stop. I love interacting with followers through comments, tweeter, sending emails ... I just love whole blogger community in general.

I don't have luck with keeping flowers alive in my home :D, but I admire roses. Especially red roses. They are just so beautiful!

There are two kinds of people: the ones who don't like tattoos and the ones who do. I'm in the second category for sure:). I still don't have any tattoos, but I have so many ideas what I want, I will probably get my first one really soon! It's just so hard to find a good tattoo artist in Slovenia.

I already mentioned the last thing, but I really started loving yoga. I do yoga on days, when my muscles are too tired and sore to do a regular workout, and I really started realizing that yoga is so much more. It's meditation, healing and relaxing process etc. that makes you fell calm and prepared for the day. If you are familiar with yoga, you probably know what I'm talking about :)

What do you love?

Something a little bit more personal ...

I didn't know if I want to share this or not ... What the heck, here it is. If you like or dislike it.

"Why do you live healthy? Why don't you eat or drink that? Why do you workout? Why don't you eat any sweets? Why do/n't you ... BLAH!" I get that a lot. And if you live a healthy lifestyle or maybe you just don't eat specific food or whatever, you probably know what I'm talking about.

So let's go back in time a little bit. I was overweight my whole life. Three years ago I weighted 25 kilograms more than now (I probably gained weight, because I gained muscles, kilograms are not important; at least not for me). No clothes fitted me right, I was sick all the time, my mind was lost, I was sad, sometimes I asked myself why are people hanging out with me, why do I have friends ... I hated the girl in the mirror, to be honest (and a mirror can be a tough judge, you know it). Even doctor said to me I need to lose weight, my blood pressure was high and my energy level was low most of the time.

When I started with a diet (90 days separation diet, almost three years ago), I felt like I was doing something good for my self after a long time or even for the first time of my life. My clothes started to fit me better, I even liked my reflection in the mirror. It was hard because I was alone in it. But I did it. For myself.

After some time, I gained self esteem, I became happier and supportive to others. I felt like a whole new person. Although the diet is not the healthiest option, but it sure did help to teach me about healthy lifestyle. I started reading blogs, books, sites ... about healthy lifestyle. I started incorporating more fruits and veggies in my diet, drink more water, started exercising ...
No, I'm not trying to look like a model, I just want to be healthy (beauty comes in all sizes!). I don't want to start thinking about health when I'm already sick. I'm trying to prevent sickness.
However, it was a long process ... more of a path, life changing path, it was a fight worth fighting! Actually I'm still fighting :)

I grew as a person, I even started to love myself (still in the process though). Because when you truly love yourself, the others will accept you just the way you are, with imperfections and even without makeup :).

You are probably rolling your eyes and asking: 'what the heck is she talking about?' :)
So long story short: In my life I have people to love, people who need me, people to be with. And for them I want to be the best version of myself, best example, while I'm still alive. Of course, I am the most important person (to myself) and my body is the only place I have to live ... That's why I choose to take care of myself, that's why I live the way I live. And I love it that way. It was my decision, no one forced me to do it.
Je ne regrette rien! :)

Give someone a hug today and share some loooove.
Oh, and I love you all <3

xoxo, Deja
