Everyone can apply lipstick, but not everyone can apply it perfectly. Today I will teach you how to get perfectly applied dark lipstick and how to prevent it form feathering.
I used Oriflame Visions Read my lips lipliner Don't talk just kiss and
Revlon matte 006 Really red lipstick.
1.
Get rid of dead skin cells. Nothing is more unattractive than perfectly applied lipstick with dead skin cells on it. Yuck! You can exfoliate them softly with a tooth brush, or you can use a lip scrub. I use one from Everyday naturals, or you can make your own: little bit of olive oil and sugar. Massage it into your lips and rinse. Your lips should feel soft and smooth.
2.
Moisturize them lips! Don't apply your lipstick on dry lips.. Ever. I suggest you apply lip balm before you apply eye or face makeup, so you let it soak in your lips and if there is any excess lip balm after this, just wipe it off with tissue.
3. This one is optional, I usally don't do it.
Conceal your lips, so the true colour of your lipstick will show. Concealer can even work as a primer and let your lipstick last longer.
4.
Line your lips with a lip pencil. I think this point is crucial for darker lipsticks to prevent bleeding and smudging.
Fill your lips with it, too.
5. Now it's time to
apply lipstick. You can use a lip brush, it can be more precise, but I don't have problems applying it directly.
6.
Take a paper tissue and bite in it with your lips to get rid of any moisture.
Reapply your lipstick.
7. To prevent your lipstick getting on your lips, do
the finger pop (put your finger in the mouth and drag it out. I'm sorry if any of you have dirty minds... ^^).
8. If you accidentally applied lipstick out of the line, take a small concealer brush and
concealer and erase mistakes. Make sure you blend your concealer well, so it's not visible and I recommend setting it with powder.
Et voila. You should have perfect looking dark lipstick.
It may seem a lot of steps, but trust me, they are all important to prevent any problems dark lipstick may cause you.
