Sephora Kat von D "Sinner" inspired makeup look

I have a list of topics for my blog I need to write and I have like one million other ideas what to post, but sometimes you just don't feel like blogging. I go to work and it's so hot I can't even think and don't forget to mention - I'm world's biggest procrastinator. You probably know how it feels if you are blogger :).

I was playing with makeup couple of days ago, was inspired by Kat von D's "sinner" look for her Sephora line. (I would like to have every single product from her line... and I have birthday soon :P)

You probably know that I love her, I mentioned her in one of my previous blog posts and even tweeted about her. She is one of my idols and she does the most awesome makeup looks. (Well, she is awesome with everything she does :)).

So here is the final look:

I have a crappy camera. Glitter was actually much more visible in person. Ah, well, have to work with what I have.

Here are the products I used:

  • face:

- Avon Ideal shade in Creamy natural
- Bourjois BIO detox Fond de teint in Vanilla (mixed those two together)
- Bourjois Healthy mix concealer in 52 medium radiance
- E.l.f. Mineral Foundation SPF15 in Fair to set my whole face
- E.l.f Contouring Blush & Contouring Powder

  • eyes:
- Essence I <3 stage eyeshadow base
- NYX The Runaway Collection in Jazz Night (I bought it, beacuse it really reminds me of Kat von D's Metal Orchestra palette)

- Essence Cristalliced glitter froster in 02 Diamond dust mixed with Kiko Mixing solution
- Catrice Liquid liner in 010 Dating Joe Black
- Catrice Kohl Kajal in black
- Artdeco All in One Mascara in Black (my all time favourite mascara <3)

  • eyebrows:
- Catrice Eye brow stylist in 030 Brown-n-eye Peas
- and a little tiny bit of Alverde black mascara (because she has quite dark eyebrows)

  • lips:
- Bourjois Sweet kiss in 49 Rose allure

- Revlon lipbutter in 015 Tutti Frutti

Do you like this look? Would you wear it?

Good night,

xoxo Deja

P.S.: I know it's kinda late, but I have two new looks planned for the Hunger Games. I'm so excited (...and I just can't hide it :P).

20 dollar makeup challenge (16 € makeup challenge)

20 $ equals 16,2860 €, so I decided to give it an European name: 16 € makeup challenge :). I found out that cosmetics in Slovenia is much more expensive as in America and we don't have a lot of choice when it comes to cheap cosmetics - Essence, some stuff from Catrice (which in fact is cheap, but not enough for this challenge) and maybe S-he and Alverde. Every purchased product was from Muller, just E.l.f. lipstick was bought online (even E.l.f. products from the UK site are more expensive than from the US site. So unfair!).

I originally bought Souffle Touch Blush from Essence and wanted to use it on my cheeks and on my lips, but I didn't like the product so much, and the total price was 18 €. I ended up using E.l.f. lipstick for 1,70 € on my lips and as a blusher instead. You have to work with what you have ;).
And I haven't used any of this products before this challenge, just the lipstick.

Here are the products I used with prices:
- Essence Clear & Matt make-up oil-free liquid foundation 01 Porcelain 3,49 €
- Essence I <3 stage eyeshadow base 2,69 €
- Essence Get it Big! Lashes mascara 2,49€
- Catrice Smokey eyes brush (double sided) 2,89 €
- Essence Eyebrow designer 04 Blonde 1,69 €
- Essence eyeshadow 09 Get ready! 1,89 €
- E.l.f. lipstick (pink shade) 1,70 €

________________________________________________________________
Total: 16,84 €

Firstly, I applied Essence liquid foundation all over my face. It's applies smoothly, it gives light coverage.  Because I didn't buy concealer for this challenge, I decided to use an eyeshadow base as a concealer, because it's matt and I can say it worked pretty well as a concealer, although I think it is little bit to dark for my skin. I applied it on my under eye bags, on imperfections on my face and on my eyelids as a base for shadow.

With smokey eye brush I applied brownish eyeshadow all over my eyelid, crease and on my lower lash line as well. The other side of the brush is angled, so I used that side and mascara as an eyeliner and slightly winged it out. I just put some mascara on the brush and lined just my upper lash line and little bit on my lower as well. Applied mascara and filled in my eyebrows with eyebrow pencil. I used E.l.f. lipstick on my lips and stained my cheeks a little bit with it.

And my 16 € look is complete! :)
Here is the finished look:

My thoughts:
I think the final look came out quite good, although I really missed setting my foundation with powder, my face felt kinda sticky from all those creamy products. And an eyeshadow could be blended a little bit more above the crease. The two sided smokey eye brush worked really well, however I'm not the biggest fan of double sided brushes because I cannot store them in my brush holder and usually forget about them (but they become handy when you travel). Speaking of traveling, you could take just a mascara and an angled brush and you can achieve winged liner without using eyeliners! I don't know if it works well with every mascara though.

The best product from this whole look I think I would have to chose an eye primer, it's like a magnet for your shadow. Even an eyeshadow is not bad quality! (I will probably depot it and put it in my Z palette, because I don't find single shadows really handy). Mascara gives you a really nice volume, although I had to apply several coats. And eyebrow pencil gives a little waxy feel to my brows, which is not a bad thing, because it keeps them in place longer.

What do you think about this look?? Do you like it? Have you ever used your eye primer as a concealer, lipstick as blush and mascara as a liner? I sometimes use lipstick as blush, it was the first time for the other two products :)

Now I would like you to do this tag!! :)
Sara from Passing Fancy
Christine from Makeup, Beauty & Fashion
V. from Gone2RehabBRB
and all other beautiful lovely ladies who would love to do this tag ;)

Have a lovely day,

Quick tip: how to make you lipstick lighter or darker

I like creating new lip shades, so no one knows what kind of lip sticks I wear (mysterious lip colour :P). I wanted to share a quick tip with you: how a make your lipstick lighter or darker.

This is what I used:

- two lipsticks: NYX Jumbo Lip pencil  709 Deep Red and Bourjois Sweet Kiss 49 Rose allure
- NYX Concealer in a Jar
- Avon Super shock gel eyeliner-liner gel in black
- lip gloss wand or brush (or just use your fingers)

You don't have to use exact same products. You can use whatever colour of lipstick you like. I just recommend using creamy concealers and eye pencils. Creamy products mix better with lipstick.

Make it lighter:
I apply lipstick on the back of my hand and with brush or lip gloss wand I get a little bit of concealer and apply it directly to where I put lipstick. Mix well. You can go back and forth with lipstick and concealer to achieve desired colour. Apply it on your lips.

Make it darker:
I do it the same way as with concealer, I just apply black liner directly to the lipstick on my hand and then mix with brush, wand or finger. Apply it to your lips.

NYX Jumbo Pencil, from left to right: lipstick mixed with concealer, normal shade, with black eyeliner.

Bourjois lipstick: from lighter to darker.

Of course you can apply it lipstick and then concealer/liner directly to your lips, but I prefer putting it to the back of my hand, so products can melt together from the warmth of my skin.

Here is comparison with NYX Jumbo Pencil. First picture: normal shade, second picture: darker shade

Pretty easy, ha?
Hope this helps to some of you :). Do you have any other tricks and tips how to make your own lip colour? Share it in the comment section!

Lots of love,

xoxo Deja

P.S.: Sorry for really bad pictures! I can't find my digital camera, I moved to a new apartment last weekend and my room is still chaotic :D. Sorry!

June favourites!

Sorry I've been MIA lately. I've been really busy busy and it's so freakin' hot, I don't even feel like blogging, although you don't really have to move much while blogging :D ...
It July already, I can't believe it! It's time for the monthly favourites:

My favourite fragnance of the month is Essence Like a trip to NY. I found it randomly in Muller and all their fragnances smell so spring/summer-y and so lovely! I wanted to buy all of them (haha. They are not that expensive though). Have you tried them? Which one is your favourite?

Best pimple killer is Purifiying oil Pure nature Organic tea tree and rosemary from Oriflame. I use it before going to bed.

I started using new night cream. I bought it on BB natura and it's from Derma E Ester C Creme with E. My skin in the morning is so soft and hydrated. My previous cream was also Derma E. Derma E never disappoints me :)

I love E.l.f. and of course I had to order some new goodies from their site. E.l.f. lipsticks are really creamy and pigmented. I bought two of them and the only thing I don't like is that they don't have a name on them. That's why I can't tell you the names. Both of them are in the pink family :)

Currently my best nail polish remover is Aveo mandel mit Aceton. It removes glitter like a boss! :)) Bought  it at Muller.

The best movie I saw in June was definitelly 21 jump street. This was the most hilarious comedy I have seen in a really long time. I was  laughing even the next day after seeing a movie. Highly recommend it! :)

I wasn't really reading any book this month, because I had to study for my exams (never ending story). And no particular song was on repeat this month ... (although I still like Payphone :))).

What are yours monthly favourites?

Have a lovely Monday!!
